Hello there, here's a little information about myself, what I do, and why I do this.
http://robwesley.myknet.org/
I am Cree and a member of the Constance Lake
First Nation (Calstock, Ontario) located in the Treaty 9 region
of Ontario, Canada. I am also a member of Cree Nation of Waskaganish
located on the shores of Rupert Bay in northern Quebec. I currently
live in Thunder Bay, Ontario, which is home and is where I have
lived most of my life. I've also spent time in Toronto, Ontario
and Fort McMurray, Alberta where I worked as a summer student
(3 summers, 97-99') in the petrochemical industry. I have lived
and worked in Moosonee, Ontario, this is where my mom is from
and where most of her family live (Hello up there).
My parents are Bob and Daisy Wesley (nee Linklater) both of Thunder Bay. In 2003, my dad retired from the Native Housing Development Corporation where he had worked since 1984. My mom operates her own catering business. I have two brothers, (Sam) Jonathon and Justin who are both living in Edmonton, Alberta. I have one sister, Marilyn Linklater, she and her four kids Cynthia, Anthony, David, and Brandon live here in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
I am a father of three wonderful kids. My oldest son's name is Jonah Brandon, he is 14 and is currently in grade 8. He loves playing his video games and his hockey. So look for me to be sitting in the stands at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. On Friday February 8, 2003, Jonah Brandon Wesley scored his first ever goal, the first thing he did was look for me in the stands. I guess he wanted to make sure I saw it, I'm so proud of you son, way to go. (I honestly almost cried those tears of joy a proud parent has but I somehow managed to compose myself). In October of 2007, Jonah was able to meet Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and the entire Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. Pictues and video are uploaded at http://www.youtube.com/jonahwesley
On February 24, 2003 my youngest son Matthew Tyler was born and on October 6, 2004 my beautiful baby girl Kiara Madison was born. I've created a more personal site, link is at the top of the page, that contains a multitude of pictures, videos, and stories.

I am presently employed as a Systems Administrator with Matawa First Nations in Thunder Bay, Ontario, a position I accepted in June of 2006. Matawa First Nations is a Tribal Council that provides a variety of services to the 10 First Nations communities it serves. It is exciting with respect that I get to be involved in high speed internet rollout projects, where communities are having high speed internet deployed throughout the entire community. So work is good, projects are great and it's all good.
I am also self-employed as a Information Technology Consultant. I provide numerous corporate clients with a variety of networking and computing solutions. As a consultant I provide or perform the following services:
- Provide a variety of duties performing professional, technical and analytical tasks to identify business requirements and procure information technology-based enhancements that meet customer business needs and objectives.
- Identify, select, design, and implement policies, conventions, and standards for computers and network systems.
- Install, configure, manage and troubleshoot LAN communication equipment for networked facilities.
- Consult in the procurement of software and hardware technologies and then perform installation, configuration, and deployment of those technologies.
I've been either employed or self-employed in the Information Technology sector since 2001. For me, working in field of Information Technology is one of those things where if you truly enjoy what you do; work just simply doesn't seem like work. I enjoy the process involved of installing, configuring, and deploying computer networks. I enjoy the process of having to adapt to learn or implement new or different technologies. I enjoy the process of solving problems and providing a solution; to put it simply, I like what I do.
The same is true for Aboriginal Connections, I work on it continuously and it's been a personal interest of mine since it began.
Aboriginal Connections started out of pure enjoyment for myself and it still is and having seen it evolve into what it has become has truly been satisfying.
My personal intentions are to remain employed and self-employed in the Information Technology sector and to work at having AboriginalConnections.com as a viable Internet-based business venture.
